Korean units you may run into
- Geun (근) — for meat and vegetables, 1 geun = 600 g. (Some produce is counted as 375 g.)
- Don (돈) — a weight unit for gold and silver: 3.75 g. One don of gold = 3.75 g.
- Cup — a Korean measuring cup is 200 ml, while a US recipe cup is about 240 ml. Watch out when following recipes from abroad.
Worth knowing. Computers count 1 GB = 1,024 MB, but storage makers label it as 1 GB = 1,000 MB. That's why a 1 TB drive shows up as roughly 931 GB on your computer.
