Use two or three credit cards in Korea and your reward points end up scattered across issuers — then quietly expire because you meant to use them "someday." Hundreds of billions of won in card points vanish this way every year.
The short answer: you can pull scattered points together at the Credit Finance Association's integrated point lookup (cardpoint.or.kr) or the AccountInfo service, and get them deposited to your bank account as cash at 1 point = ₩1. It's free and takes about five minutes.
Where and how
Use either official, free service:
- Credit Finance Association — web at cardpoint.or.kr (app available too)
- AccountInfo — install the app, or use accountinfo.or.kr on a PC
The steps are nearly identical:
- ① Open the site/app → verify your identity (phone or a simple/joint certificate)
- ② See each issuer's remaining and soon-to-expire points in one place
- ③ Select the cash-eligible points → enter your own bank account
- ④ Submit. Most deposits arrive instantly or by the next business day
Major issuers (Shinhan, Samsung, KB Kookmin, Lotte, Hyundai, Hana, Woori, BC and more) are supported. Note that partner points like airline miles or OK Cashbag may not be eligible for cash conversion.
A few cautions
- Watch for phishing. No government body or card issuer ever asks for a fee, card PIN or CVC to deposit points. Type the official address yourself instead of tapping links in texts.
- Your own account only — deposits can't go to family or third-party accounts.
- You can apply once a day, and it's hard to cancel, so confirm the amount first.
- From February 2026, an auto-use service (points spent automatically at checkout) is expanding, starting with those 65+.
FAQ
Is there a fee?
No. Lookup and account deposit through the Credit Finance Association / AccountInfo are free.
How long do points last?
Usually five years from earning, though it varies by card and point type. "Soon-to-expire" points are flagged — cash those out first.
Do Naver Pay / Kakao Pay points show up?
No. Only card-issuer points are covered. Check simple-pay points separately in each service.
Run the integrated lookup just once every six months. Even small amounts, scattered across issuers, add up to more than you'd expect.
This is general 2026 information; whether specific points can be cashed out depends on issuer policy and point type.
